Rebecca De Havalland

Born Eamon Tallon in Granard, Co Longford in 1958, Eamon always felt he was somehow different to his peers, preferring to play with cut-out dolls rather than footballs.  Desperately trying to live the conventional life expected of young men in this era, Eamon married and had one daughter.  Following the breakdown of the marriage, Eamon began to live life as gay man “Ross Tallon” and quickly established the reputation of being one of the top hair and make-up artists in Ireland and the UK.  Ross was Mandy Smiths hair and makeup artist for Mandy’s infamous wedding to Rolling Stone, Bill Wyman.

Following a tumultuous life during the seventies and early eighties, in 1989, Ross became the first Irish person to have gender re-assignment surgery, thus completing the long eventful and often torturous journey from man to woman.

Rebecca now lives in Ireland where she runs one of the country’s top model agencies, De Havalland Model Management.  Her first book, “His Name is Rebecca” was published in 2010 to rave reviews, reaching number 3 on Joe Duffys “People’s Choice” list.

Earlier this year, Rebecca presented her own show on Kildare TV entitled “Rebecca meets…” a series of one to one interview with high profile Irish women. She writes a regular beauty column “Becky’s Beauty Box” featured in Suburbia magazine.

Rebecca is available for bookings and personal appearances through Red Carpet.
